about mūgi

I didn’t start mūgi because I planned to, I started because I was searching.

while living in Dubai, I was drawn to objects that felt different: pieces with soul made with care rather than speed. so I began making them myself.

working with clay became a way to slow down. to create something tangible, imperfect, and honest. a small counterbalance to everything fast and polished.

my work is inspired by the beauty of simplicity and imperfection (wabi-sabi), subtle color, softness, and a sense of quiet playfulness in everyday objects.

a few months ago, I continued this journey in Amsterdam, where mūgi slowly started to take shape beyond just making for myself, and now for others.

mūgi's focus is on mugs. objects we reach for daily, often without thinking. I like the idea that something so simple can carry intention, and become part of someone’s small, everyday rituals.

each piece is made by hand, slowly and with care. no two are exactly the same, and that’s exactly the point.
